Even the slightest misuse will screw you over apparently, even if you didn't mean to cause any damage with it.
Probably the same thing John Mayer's going thru for using the "N" word and stuff, its funny, how its a big deal when he s using it, and they didn't take it as it was in context. Just cause he's a white guy it was a big deal.

If he wants to use the N word with his black friends and they're ok with it then fine but to use it in an interview isn't right because he doesn't know who's going to read it. Someone who reads it may find the N word offensive regardless of who says the word, black or white guy. It comes down to the connotations people associate with the word.
